A hidden natural oasis in the heart of Euboea, where nature has shaped one of its most beautiful masterpieces.
As a natural site, access is open 24 hours a day, although visiting in daylight is recommended for safety. It is about 3 km from Nydri; you can drive to the parking area by the 'The Plane Tree' café and then walk for about 15–20 minutes along the marked trail. Exact location here: View on Google Maps.
No, access to Dimosari Waterfall is completely free. It is one of the best no-cost activities on the island of Lefkada, ideal for travelers on a budget without giving up an incredible experience.
In general, an hour and a half is enough to walk from the parking area, enjoy the scenery, and take photos. If you plan to swim in the natural pools and relax, we suggest allowing around 2 hours so you can enjoy it at a leisurely pace.
The name Dimosari comes from 'Dimos' (municipality) and 'Ari' (strength/water), referring to the old water mills that once operated here. Historically, this place was vital for irrigation, and today it is a protected ecological haven of great beauty.
The best season is spring (May–June), when the water flow is strong; in the height of summer the water level drops, although it remains refreshing. To avoid crowds and intense heat, it is best to go early in the morning, before 10:00 AM.
Unfortunately not. The trail is dirt, uneven, with rocks and steep steps near the end of the route, making it inaccessible for wheelchairs or strollers.
After your visit, you can head down to the lively town of Nydri to enjoy its seafront dining. From its harbor, famous excursions depart to nearby islands, such as Skorpios Island. More information about the area here: Lefkada Tourism.
Wear sports or hiking shoes (avoid flip-flops for walking), as the terrain can be slippery. Don’t forget your swimsuit for a dip in the main pool, and bring water, as the walk can be hot in summer.
