The beach is freely accessible 24 hours a day. It is located on the north coast of Tinos, 12 km from Tinos Town. The best way to get there is by rental car or taxi (see the official map) via winding but paved roads.
Access is completely free. There are no ticket booths or entry controls. You only need to cover transport costs, sunbeds (about €8 per day), or services at the nearby beach bar.
A half-day visit (4-6 hours) is ideal to enjoy the water, have a drink at the beach bar, and explore both coves (Megali and Mikri Kolymbithra). Many visitors spend the whole day there with an umbrella.
It stands out as one of the few sandy beaches on the island, which is unusual in the Cyclades, and for its semi-wild setting. It does not have the religious historical significance of other places in Tinos, but it is a hub for surfers and local youth.
From June to September for good weather. Avoid August because of the crowds. The best times of day are mornings (10:00-13:00) for peace and quiet or late afternoons (after 17:00) to enjoy the famous Cycladic sunset.
It is not suitable for wheelchairs. There is a slope from the parking area down to the sand, the surface is uneven, and there are no ramps. The beach bar does have an adapted area with level tables.
We recommend:- Agios Sostis (seaside church 900 m away)- The traditional village of Kampos (6 km)- The nuns' monastery in Agia Thalassa (local honey for sale)
