The beach is open 24 hours a day all year round, as it is a natural public space. It is easily reached by car or bus from Chora (Naxos Town), about 7 km away; there is free parking nearby. Check the official map at naxos.gr.
Admission is completely free, as it is a public beach. You can rent umbrellas and sun loungers for around €10–15 per day at the beach bars. No tickets or reservations are required.
It is recommended to spend 3 to 4 hours swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing. If you combine it with snorkeling or a walk, it could extend to half a day. It is ideal for an unhurried half-day visit.
Named after the nearby Church of Agios Prokopios, this beach is famous for its fine white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters, and it is considered one of the best beaches on Naxos. It represents the natural beauty of the Cyclades, without major historical ruins but with authentic Greek cultural charm.
Summer (June to September) is ideal because of the warm weather and the sea being perfect for swimming. Go early in the morning or at sunset to avoid crowds and enjoy the golden light. Avoid midday in July and August because of the intense heat.
Road access is easy with nearby parking, and the fine sand makes walking easier, but there are no specific ramps or boardwalks for wheelchairs. I recommend contacting local assistance services; more info at greeka.com.
Just 1 km away is Agia Anna Beach, with more services. In Chora (7 km), visit the Portara and the old harbor. You can also explore Mount Zas for hiking. Full map at naxos.gr.
Bring sunscreen, water, and a hat because of the strong sun; rent an umbrella for comfort. Try the food at nearby tavernas, such as fresh souvlaki. Use public transport or a taxi if you are not renting a car, and respect the environment by not leaving trash behind.
