The park is open 24 hours a day all year round, although the visitor centers operate from 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM Tuesday to Sunday (closed Monday). Half a day is recommended for a basic visit to Lake Königssee and short trails, or a full day for intensive hiking such as routes toward Watzmann. Plan according to your pace so you do not feel rushed and can enjoy the scenery.

Visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), 10 minutes away by special bus, the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine, or Lake Obersee. Salzburg, Austria, is 30 km away with its Old Town; combine them for a fuller trip.
