Donde la Reforma protestante se enfrentó a fantasmas medievales y techo de mala calidad
The church is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM during high season (May-September), but check for updates on the official Lindau website. It is located in the center of Lindau Island, within walking distance of the main harbor; use Google Maps for directions.
Admission is free, although donations for maintenance are appreciated. There is no fee to visit the interior, but climbing the tower may require a small voluntary contribution.
It is recommended to allow 30-45 minutes to explore the interior, the organ, and climb the tower if you wish. If there is an organ concert, add at least one more hour.
Built in the 15th century in Gothic style, it is famous for its 1886 Walcker organ, one of the finest in Europe, and offers panoramic views from its 70-meter tower. It represents Lindau's Protestant heritage and has hosted international concerts.
Summer (June-August) is ideal because of the organ concerts and good weather; visit at sunset for spectacular photos of Lake Constance. Avoid midday in July-August due to heat and crowds.
The interior is accessible via ramps, but the tower requires climbing narrow stairs and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Contact +49 8382 2680 for special options or adapted guided visits.
Just a few minutes' walk away are the harbor with the lighthouse, the Minster of Our Lady, and the old town with its patrician houses. Explore Lake Constance or the museum in the nearby station district.
Climb the tower for 360° views of the lake and the Alps; check the concert calendar on the Lindau events website. Wear comfortable shoes for the stairs and consider an audio guide for more historical details.
