Sillon Beach is a public beach open 24 hours a day all year round. It is easy to reach on foot from the historic center of Intra-Muros, or by car with nearby parking; check the map on the Saint-Malo Tourist Office.
Access to Sillon Beach is completely free, as it is a public beach. You would only pay for parking if you go by car, around €2–3 per hour in high season.
It is recommended to spend at least 1–2 hours walking along its 3 km of fine sand and enjoying the sea. If you plan to swim or have a picnic, allow about 3 hours for a full experience.
Sillon Beach is iconic in Saint-Malo, the corsair city, and forms part of the landscape protected by the 17th-century walls. It has witnessed historic landings and is a symbol of coastal Brittany, ideal for evocative walks.
The best time is in summer (June to September) for swimming, preferably at sunrise or sunset to avoid crowds and enjoy spectacular views. Avoid midday in July and August because of the intense heat.
It has access points with boardwalks for wheelchairs in some areas, but loose sand can make movement difficult; amphibious beach chairs are available on loan in season through the Tourist Office. Check updated details at saint-malo-tourisme.com.
Nearby you will find Intra-Muros with its walls and corsair houses, Fort National a 10-minute walk away, and Grand Bé Island at the other end of the beach. Everything is accessible on foot for a full day of exploration.
Bring sunscreen, water, and comfortable shoes for the sand; check the tides at maree.info to avoid currents. In summer, arrive early for parking and try seafood at nearby beach bars.
