Access to the natural landscapes and trails is free 24 hours a day, but the historic site of Pointe du Hoc, which is a key part of this setting, is generally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. depending on the season. The main access is by car via the D514 road; you can check details with the Normandy Tourist Office.

Visiting the agricultural landscapes and the cliffs of Cricqueville-en-Bessin is completely free, including parking in designated areas. No tickets are required, making it an ideal and budget-friendly stop on your route through Normandy.

This landscape is a living testimony to the Norman bocage and the scene of fierce fighting during D-Day, still preserving bomb craters from 1944. It is a unique blend of military history and the region's agricultural natural beauty, managed in part by the American Battle Monuments Commission.

Spring and summer offer the best weather for walking, preferably early in the morning (before 10:00 a.m.) to avoid crowds. Sunsets provide spectacular light over the cliffs for photography lovers.

Accessibility is partial; there are paved paths leading to the main viewpoints and the monument, suitable for wheelchairs. However, going deeper into the more rustic trails of the agricultural landscape or among the craters can be difficult because of the uneven terrain.

You are very close to the famous Omaha Beach and the unmissable Normandy American Cemetery. We also suggest visiting the fishing port of Grandcamp-Maisy to sample the local cuisine after your walk.

Wear comfortable, sturdy footwear, as the ground can be muddy, and bring a windproof jacket even in summer because of the sea breeze. We recommend downloading your audio guide before arriving, as mobile signal can be unreliable on the cliffs.
