It is essential for understanding the French Art Nouveau movement (1890–1910). It houses masterpieces by Émile Gallé, Louis Majorelle, and other pioneers who revolutionized design with naturalistic inspiration in furniture, glass, and architecture.
Avoid July and August, when crowds are larger. Wednesday afternoons are quiet and offer free admission. The first hours after opening (10:00 AM–12:00 PM) are usually less crowded, especially on Thursdays and Fridays.
