As public beaches and natural spaces, access is open 24 hours a day all year round. You can plan your route freely, although we recommend making the most of daylight hours to better enjoy the views of the gulf.

No, access to Ajaccio’s sandy gems, such as Marinella Beach or Trottel Beach, is completely free. You will only have expenses if you choose to rent sunbeds in private areas or buy something at the local beach bars.

If you plan to visit several beaches and enjoy the scenery, we recommend setting aside at least half a day, around 3 or 4 hours. If you just want to relax on one of them, you can stay as long as you wish under the Corsican sun.

Beyond its beauty, these shores were the birthplace and strolling grounds of Napoleon Bonaparte. The area of the Sanguinaires Islands, at the end of the route, is filled with legends of shipwrecks and lighthouse keepers that have shaped the city’s identity.

Late spring, in June, and early autumn, in September, are ideal for avoiding the large summer crowds. In addition, sunset on the road toward the Sanguinaires offers spectacular golden and reddish light for your photos.

It depends on the beach; those closer to the town center, such as Trottel Beach, usually have ramps and easier access. However, the wilder and more remote coves may have uneven sandy ground that is harder to navigate.

The natural route takes you almost as far as the famous Sanguinaires Islands and their Genoese tower. On the way back to the center, a visit to the Bonaparte House is essential to complete the cultural experience.
