The park is open every day from 8:00 AM until sunset (approximately 5:00 PM). The most common way to access it is by boat excursions or by land in a taxi/private bus from hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, about 20 km away.
Admission is around USD 5 to 10 per person (payable in local currency or dollars), plus a vehicle fee if you go by land. It is essential to bring cash and your passport, as cards are usually not accepted at the entrance gate.
To truly enjoy the snorkeling and see the Magic Lake, I recommend setting aside at least half a day (4–5 hours). If you are a certified diver, a full-day excursion is ideal to make the most of the dives.
Established in 1983, it is Egypt's first national park and is home to some of the most spectacular and diverse coral reefs in the world. Its strategic location between the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba creates a unique marine ecosystem.
The spring months (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most pleasant weather. Try to arrive early in the morning, around 8:30 AM, to avoid the intense heat and large tourist groups.
The terrain is desert-like, rocky, and sandy, which makes wheelchair access to the beaches or trails very difficult. However, the main viewpoints and the Allah Gate can be seen perfectly well without leaving the vehicle.
You are very close to the Old Market in Sharm El Sheikh, ideal for dinner after your visit. It is also the departure point for legendary diving sites such as the SS Thistlegorm wreck.
It is mandatory to carry your physical passport for the military checkpoints on the road. Also, rent your snorkeling gear before entering the park and use biodegradable sunscreen to protect the corals.
