The park is open 24 hours a day, every day, but it is recommended to visit between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm for greater safety. It is easily reached by road from Ras Sedr (30 minutes by car) or from Sharm El Sheikh (1 hour). You can check updates on the official Egypt tourism website.
There is a symbolic fee of approximately 5 USD per person. Children under 6 enter free of charge. It is recommended to bring cash in Egyptian pounds (EGP) to buy tickets at the main entrance.
Ideally, you should allow 3 to 4 hours to explore the main trails, observe the mangroves, and enjoy the untouched beaches. If you plan to snorkel or have a picnic, allow half a day.
Nabq is the largest mangrove reserve in the Gulf of Aqaba and is home to unique ecosystems, including corals, sea turtles, and more than 130 species of birds. It was declared a protected area in 1992 to conserve its biodiversity.
The best season is from October to April, with temperatures between 20°C and 28°C. Avoid July and August because of the extreme heat (up to 40°C). Early morning is ideal for birdwatching and avoiding crowds.
Access is limited due to natural trails with sand and uneven terrain. Only the area near the visitor center is partially accessible. It is recommended to check with local guides for adapted options.
Within less than 1 hour you have: Ras Muhammad (for diving), the coastal city of Dahab (40 km), and Saint Catherine's Monastery (120 km). Ras Sedr is known for its kitesurfing lagoons (local info).
