The most popular way to get there is by shuttle boats that cross the lagoons from nearby hotels or from central El Gouna. The beach is generally open from 8:00 AM until sunset to make the most of the natural light.
Access is usually free for guests of partner hotels such as Sheraton Miramar or Sultan Bey. Outside visitors may pay a day fee, which often includes a voucher or credit redeemable at the beach bar and restaurant.
We recommend setting aside at least half a day, around 3 to 4 hours, to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. That gives you enough time to sunbathe, have a refreshing drink, and walk to the end of the famous pier for snorkeling.
This island beach is an icon of El Gouna’s engineering, known as the 'Venice of Egypt.' Its greatest attraction is the 400-meter pier that lets you walk above the shallow waters until you reach the deep coral reef.
To avoid extreme heat, the spring and autumn months, from March to May and from October to November, are ideal. As for the time of day, morning is perfect because the wind is usually lighter, making swimming and snorkeling easier.
Although the sand can make wheelchair movement difficult, the main access area and the bar have paved sections. However, reaching the end of the pier or entering the water may require assistance because of the beach’s natural layout.
You are very close to the main hub known as Kafr El Gouna, full of shops and traditional cafés. You can also visit the vibrant Abu Tig Marina, famous for its luxury yachts and excellent dining.
It is essential to bring reef shoes or water shoes, as the seabed may have coral and sea urchins in the shallow areas. Also, if you really want to swim, head straight to the end of the pier, where the water is deeper and clearer.
