¿Sabías que esta playa escondida en Salinas fue el refugio de pescadores que desafiaron tormentas épicas y ahora es el spot donde el Pacífico te susurra secretos?
As a public beach, access is open 24 hours a day via the Salinas Boardwalk. However, for your safety and to enjoy the services, it is recommended to visit between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Entry to Chipipe Beach is completely free. You only need to bring cash if you want to rent tents, umbrellas, or chairs, which usually cost between $5 and $10 depending on the season.
We recommend setting aside at least half a day (about 4 hours) to enjoy its calm waters and local cuisine. It is the ideal place to unwind without the rush of other more crowded beaches.
Chipipe is known as the most traditional and residential area of Salinas, historically favored by families for its gentle waters. Unlike bustling San Lorenzo, here you can feel the history of the classic Ecuadorian seaside resort.
Beach season (December to April) offers the best sunny weather and warm water. We suggest going early in the morning to find a good spot or at sunset for spectacular views.
The boardwalk is paved and wheelchair-friendly, allowing you to enjoy the view without difficulty. Access to the sand may require assistance, as there are not always walkways all the way to the shore.
You are very close to the famous La Chocolatera (the westernmost point of the Ecuadorian coast) and the Sea Lion Sanctuary. You can also walk toward the Yacht Club to see the boats.
Take advantage of the almost nonexistent waves to try paddleboarding or swim safely with small children. Bring strong sun protection and stay hydrated, as the sun on the Santa Elena Peninsula is very intense.
