The sea lion colony is a natural area open to the public 24 hours a day. However, it is recommended to visit between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to enjoy natural light and see the sea lions at their most active. Since it is a public beach, there are no time restrictions.
No, access to this natural sea lion reserve is completely free. It is a natural spectacle with open access in the rocky beach area, although some local agencies offer optional guided tours (from $10 depending on the season).
One to two hours is enough to observe the sea lions, take photographs, and enjoy the scenery. If you combine the visit with the Playas boardwalk and other nearby areas, you can plan for half a day.

From June to December (dry season), when there is less rain and the sea lions are usually more active. Mornings are ideal: there is less wind and better light for photographs.
Access requires walking on sand and uneven rocks. There is no adapted path or special viewpoint, so it is not recommended for wheelchairs. It is suggested to watch from a distance from the boardwalk if there are mobility limitations.
