Puerto Chino is open all day, with no time restrictions. To get there, you can take a taxi from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (about 25–30 minutes) or, if you're feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle and enjoy the scenery. There is a short final walk from the parking area to the beach.

Good news! Visiting Puerto Chino is completely free. There are no entrance fees or extra costs to enjoy its beautiful beaches and wildlife. It is a natural paradise accessible to everyone.

To fully enjoy Puerto Chino, we recommend setting aside at least 2 to 3 hours. This gives you enough time to relax on the beach, swim in its crystal-clear waters, and watch the sea lions. If you plan to snorkel, allow a bit more time.

While Puerto Chino does not have deep cultural history like some archaeological sites, its significance lies in its pristine condition as a natural habitat. It is a perfect example of conservation in the Galápagos, offering a glimpse of wildlife in its natural environment and promoting sustainable tourism.

The best time to visit Puerto Chino for weather is during the dry season (June to December), although underwater visibility is better in the warm season (January to May). To see more wildlife, we suggest going early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when animals are more active. Unfortunately, access to Puerto Chino is not ideal for people using wheelchairs or with reduced mobility. There is a dirt-and-sand trail, and the beach area does not have adapted infrastructure. However, there are other beaches in the Galápagos with better accessibility that we could recommend if that is your situation.

Near Puerto Chino, you can visit the San Cristóbal Interpretation Center to learn about the history and ecology of the Galápagos, and then head to the amazing La Lobería, famous for its sea lion colonies. Absolutely! I recommend bringing biodegradable sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Don't forget your snorkeling gear (if you have it) to explore the marine life. And please remember not to leave any trash and to keep a respectful distance from wildlife. Enjoy the magic of the Galápagos!
