The cathedral generally opens every day from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please note that tourist visits are usually restricted during the celebration of Holy Mass.

A visit usually lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, enough time to admire the high altar and the interior architecture. If you use an audio guide to explore the historical details more deeply, the experience will be much more complete.
Built in the 17th century by the Jesuits, it is one of the most outstanding monuments of early Baroque architecture in northern Croatia. Its design and altarpieces reflect the period when Varaždin was the country’s capital.
Ideally, visit in the morning on a weekday to enjoy the peace and natural light. If you travel in September, try to coincide with the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival for a unique cultural experience.
Due to its age, the main entrance has steps that may make wheelchair access difficult without assistance. It is recommended to ask at the entrance whether temporary ramps or side entrances are available at the time of your visit.
The cathedral is very central; just a short walk away you will find the famous Old Town Castle and Sermage Palace. You can also stroll through the main square, the Korzo, which is the heart of the city’s social life.
Remember to wear respectful clothing that covers your shoulders and knees, as this is an active place of worship. So you do not miss the hidden history behind each sculpture, we strongly recommend using an audio guide during your tour.
