The Dominican Monastery Museum is generally open from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00 in summer (June-September). Outside the season, it is best to check directly (+385 21 765 443) or verify on Visit Stari Grad, as opening hours may vary.
Admission costs a symbolic fee of around 30 HRK (about €4). Children under 12 usually enter free, but it is advisable to bring cash in case electronic payment systems are unavailable.
A full visit takes about 1 hour. It includes the Renaissance cloister, the Greek and Roman archaeological collection, and the spectacular 15th-century frescoes.
Founded in 1482, it is a jewel of Hvar’s heritage where Croatian, Venetian, and Dalmatian history come together. It houses The Last Supper, a unique Renaissance fresco in Croatia, as well as historical documents about island life.
Visit in the morning (before 11:00) in May-June or September to avoid crowds and heat. Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually less busy than weekends.
