Donde un burro ladrón, ánforas romanas y pescadores iracundos escribieron la historia más cómica del Adriático
Stracinska Bay is a public natural area open **24 hours a day**. You can reach it by boat or via a dirt path (ideal for hiking or cycling) from the village of Gornje Selo.
Access to the bay is **completely free**, as it is a public, wild beach. There are no ticket booths or entrance fees, making it an affordable and spectacular option for enjoying nature on the island of Solta.
To truly enjoy the peace and the crystal-clear waters, we recommend planning at least **half a day (3 to 4 hours)**. It is the ideal place to switch off, swim, and have a picnic without the rush of organized tours.
Historically, Stracinska served as a fishing harbor for the inhabitants of Gornje Selo. Its value lies in representing the **'Mediterranean as it once was'**, preserving an authentic and untouched atmosphere far from mass tourism, with only a few traditional stone houses.
The months of **June and September** offer perfect weather with fewer people. The best time of day is early morning to secure a spot and enjoy the sea like a mirror, or at sunset to watch the colors of the Adriatic change.
Unfortunately, land access is via a sloping rural path and the beach is pebbly, so it is **not suitable** for wheelchairs. The only practical option for people with reduced mobility would be direct access by sea in a suitable boat.
Very close by is the village of **Gornje Selo**, famous for its tradition of producing olive oil and local wine. If you enjoy exploring, you can look for other nearby coves such as Travna Bay by following the coastal paths.
As this is a pristine beach **with no bars or shops**, it is essential to bring your own water, food, and shade. We also strongly recommend bringing **reef shoes or water shoes**, as the beach is rocky and there may be sea urchins.
