The park is usually open from 7:00 a.m. until sunset (around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. in summer). You can easily reach it by car via the D8 road; we recommend checking the official website to confirm specific seasonal hours.
Admission is paid and essential for conserving the area. The general price is around €3 to €7 depending on the season, and includes access to the educational trails and the stunning Kamenjak viewpoint.
To enjoy the educational bird trail and climb up to the viewpoint, allow 2 to 3 hours. If you feel like cycling the full route around the lake, you will need almost the whole day.
It is the largest natural lake in Croatia and a rare cryptodepression filled with biodiversity. Its importance lies in being a key ornithological reserve and home to historical remains such as watchtowers and old caravanserais.
Spring and autumn are ideal for watching migratory birds. If you are after the perfect photo, head up to the Kamenjak viewpoint just before sunset to see the Kornati Islands bathed in golden light.
The wooden educational trail at the Crkvine entrance is flat and wheelchair accessible. However, access to the Kamenjak viewpoint and other rocky areas can be difficult without vehicle assistance to the top.
Do not miss Maškovića Han, the westernmost monument of Ottoman civil architecture in Europe. You are also very close to the beaches of Pakoštane and the historic town of Biograd na Moru.
