Playa Rajska, en la isla de Rab, Croacia, es un rincón idílico de arena fina y aguas cristalinas del Adriático, rodeado de un denso bosque de pinos que invita a la contemplación y el relax.
As it is a public beach, access is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. It is located in Lopar, about 14 km from the town of Rab, and you can easily get there by car (there are large paid parking areas nearby) or by the local bus line that frequently connects Rab with Lopar.
Access to the beach itself is completely free for all visitors. However, using additional services such as sun loungers, umbrellas, the water slide, or sports facilities involves an extra cost paid directly on site.
It is recommended to plan at least half a day (about 4–6 hours) to enjoy the sun and sea at a relaxed pace. Because of its wide range of restaurants and activities, many families choose to spend the whole day there, from morning until sunset.
Known as 'Paradise Beach,' it is famous for being one of the few natural sandy beaches in Croatia and for flying the Blue Flag, a symbol of quality and cleanliness. Its fame grew when CNN included it on its list of the 100 best beaches in the world, making it a tourism icon of the island of Rab.
The best period is between June and September to enjoy the warm weather and all services being open. If you are looking for peace and quiet, we recommend going early in the morning (before 10:00) or later in the afternoon, as in July and August it usually becomes quite crowded at midday.
Yes, Rajska Beach is known for being inclusive and has easy access points and ramps in several areas. In addition, the nature of the beach, with fine sand and very shallow water along the shore, makes entering the sea much easier for people with mobility difficulties.
Within a short walking distance, you can visit the neighboring Livačina Beach, which is usually less crowded, or explore the island's geopark. We also recommend visiting the center of the town of Rab in the afternoon to see its famous four bell towers and enjoy its gastronomy.
The most important thing to know is that the water is extremely shallow; you need to walk almost 500 meters out to sea before it covers you, which is ideal for children but unusual for swimmers. Do not forget high-factor sun protection, as there is little natural shade on the sand, and bring cash for small local businesses.
