¿Sabías que esta playa de arena interminable fue 'descubierta' por un piloto loco desde el cielo? Escucha los secretos que solo un local de 20 años conoce.
Guiones Beach is a public beach, so it is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. To get there, people usually drive. The main road to Nosara, Route 160, will bring you close, and then there are signs to the public parking areas near the beach.
Good news! Guiones Beach is a public beach, so there is no entrance fee to enjoy its beautiful sand and waves. It is completely free for all visitors.
To fully enjoy Guiones Beach, we recommend setting aside at least half a day, around 3 to 5 hours. This gives you time to relax, swim, maybe take a surf lesson, and enjoy the spectacular sunset.
Guiones Beach, and the Nosara region in general, is known for its commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation. It is a place where the local community has actively worked to protect marine wildlife, especially turtles, and preserve the area's natural beauty, making it a landmark of ecotourism in Costa Rica.
The best time to visit Guiones Beach is during the dry season, from December to April, when the weather is sunny and surf conditions are excellent. As for the time of day, sunrise offers calmer waves and the sunsets are stunning.
General access to Guiones Beach is via sandy paths, which can make getting around a bit difficult for people with reduced mobility. At present, there is no specific infrastructure such as ramps or boardwalks designed for wheelchairs directly to the shoreline. It is recommended to check whether local assistance is available if needed.
There is plenty to explore! Near Guiones Beach, you can visit the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge for turtle nesting, especially from July to December, take yoga classes, explore Nosara's lively food scene, or even head out on kayaking trips through the mangroves.
Of course, here are a few tips: Do not forget broad-spectrum sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses, as the sun can be very strong. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. If you plan to surf, consider taking a lesson at one of the local schools. And please respect the natural environment and take all your trash with you.
