To fully enjoy the experience and get to know the animals at a relaxed pace, we recommend at least 1.5 to 2 hours. If you like reading all the information about each species and enjoy photography, you could easily extend your visit a bit longer. There is no rush, so take your time and connect with nature.

Any time is a good time to visit, but many visitors prefer to go early in the morning, between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, or in the mid-afternoon after 2:00 PM. During these hours, the animals are usually more active and the weather is cooler. The dry season, from December to April, is ideal for good weather, but the rainy season offers lusher scenery and fewer tourists.

The center makes every effort to be as accessible as possible. Many of its main paths are flat and well maintained, making it easier to get around with wheelchairs or strollers. La Fortuna, with all its adventure activities, is not too far away. Tilarán has its own charm as well. There is plenty to explore in the surrounding area!

I recommend bringing sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat or cap, and comfortable walking shoes. Do not forget your camera, but please avoid using flash so you do not disturb the animals, and bring water to stay hydrated.
