As it is a compact park in its central layout, we recommend allowing 30 minutes to 1 hour. If you plan to take photographs or rest on its benches, you can extend your visit.
It was the founding heart of Cartago (1540) and its first main square. Its name pays tribute to Simón Bolívar, who visited the city in 1829 during the independence process.
During the dry season (June to September) to enjoy the good weather. Weekend mornings are less crowded than afternoons.
The park has paved accesses, but some areas have old cobblestones that can be uneven. Visiting with a companion is recommended if using a wheelchair.
