Founded in 1840, it is the oldest park and the historic heart of Medellín, having witnessed key events in the city. It is home to the iconic statue of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, brought from Spain in 1915, and represents the city's cultural and social hub.

The best time is in the morning or mid-afternoon, when there is more light and a lively atmosphere with vendors and musicians. Avoid nighttime for safety reasons; the ideal period is during the dry season (December to March).
