The Feilai Feng Grottoes usually open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (though hours may vary by season). They are located within the scenic area of Lingyin Temple, so entry is through that area. You can get there by taxi, tourist bus, or public transport (See more about Lingyin Temple here).

To visit Feilai Feng, you must first buy a ticket to the Lingyin Temple Scenic Area (approximately CNY 45). After that, entry to the grottoes themselves has no additional cost, as it is already included in the scenic area ticket. A great deal for so much historic beauty!

We recommend allowing at least 1.5 to 2 hours to explore the grottoes at a relaxed pace, admire the Buddhist carvings, and enjoy the natural surroundings. If you also plan to visit Lingyin Temple, you will need at least 3 to 4 hours in total.

Feilai Feng is a place of immense Buddhist significance, home to hundreds of Buddhist sculptures carved into the rock since the 10th century. Its name, 'Flying Peak,' comes from the legend of an Indian monk who believed the mountain had flown from India, making it a site of deep spirituality and artistic importance.
