The main viewpoint at Feilai Temple is accessible 24 hours a day, making it ideal for capturing the famous golden sunrise. However, the park's ticket offices and transport services usually operate from about 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The price varies depending on the package, but the combined ticket, which usually includes Feilai Temple and Mingyong Glacier, costs around 150 to 230 RMB. It is advisable to bring cash and buy tickets at the Deqin entrance or through authorized agencies.

If you only want to see the sunrise and the glacier, one full day is enough. If you plan to trek to Yubeng Village, you should allow 3 to 4 days for the full experience.

Known as Kawagarbo, it is one of the most sacred mountains in Tibetan Buddhism and has never been climbed out of religious respect. Its spiritual importance is so great that any attempt to reach the summit is strictly forbidden by law.

The ideal months are from late October to May, when the skies are clearer and drier. This season offers the best chances of witnessing the spectacular sunrise known as 'Rizhao Jinshan' (sunlit golden mountain).

Accessibility is limited because of the high-mountain geography of the Himalayas. Although the Feilai Temple viewpoint is paved and accessible, the trails to the glaciers or Yubeng are not suitable for wheelchairs.

You should not miss Mingyong Glacier, which descends dramatically from the summit, or the picturesque village of Yubeng. In addition, the city of Shangri-La is the main gateway for this adventure.

You will be above 3,400 meters, so drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol, and walk slowly. It is essential to wear warm layers, even in summer, and consider bringing portable oxygen if you are not acclimatized.
