Discover Three Kingdoms Film and Television City in Wuxi. A unique experience to explore its history and significance.
The park is generally open every day from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. To get there, the most convenient option is to take bus line 82 from Wuxi railway station or a direct taxi, which will save you time and hassle.
A single ticket costs around 90 RMB, but the best option is to buy the combined ticket with the neighboring Water Margin City for about 150 RMB. This lets you visit the two major filming sets at a much better price.
I recommend allowing at least 3 to 4 hours to explore the palaces and enjoy the main shows. If you are passionate about history or photography, you could easily spend half a day getting lost in the details.
Although it is a modern recreation built in 1994 for a CCTV television series, it faithfully revives Han Dynasty architecture and the events of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It is a key cultural site for understanding classical Chinese literature in a visual way.
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are ideal because of the mild weather. Try to arrive early, around 9:00 AM, to secure a good spot for the famous equestrian show 'The Three Heroes Battle Lü Bu.'
The main areas and the lakeside paths are fairly flat and accessible, but keep in mind that reaching the towers or high walls involves climbing stairs. Electric cart services are available inside the park and make getting around much easier.
Right next door you have Water Margin City, which recreates the Song Dynasty. In addition, you are on the shores of Lake Tai, where you can take a traditional Chinese boat ride to enjoy panoramic views.
Do not miss the show schedules at the entrance; they are the highlight of the visit. And to really understand what you are seeing without getting bored reading signs, I recommend bringing a good audio guide downloaded to your phone from IAudioguia.
