Sendero peatonal junto al océano Pacífico en Zapallar, Chile, que ofrece vistas espectaculares y un recorrido por la arquitectura costera de principios del siglo XX.
The Zapallar Coastal Walk is a public space open 24 hours a day, year-round, although visiting in daylight is recommended for safety. The main access point is from Zapallar Beach, walking north or south along the marked stone paths.
Access to and walking along the coastal promenade is completely free, as it is public land for public use. You do not need to book or buy tickets; simply arrive and enjoy the scenery.
To enjoy it at a relaxed pace, take photos, and appreciate the architecture, we recommend allowing between 45 minutes and an hour and a half. The pace is slower because of the uneven rocks and the beauty of the surroundings.
This heritage promenade stands out for its huge cut-stone blocks and its harmonious integration with nature, reflecting the founding vision of the seaside resort in the early 20th century. You can learn more about the area's historic architecture on the Zapallar Municipality website.
Sunset is the golden moment to watch the sun sink into the Pacific, offering spectacular light for photographs. If you are looking for peace and quiet, avoid weekends in January and February; spring (October-November) is ideal for the weather and the smaller crowds.
Because of its natural stone paths, steps, and uneven levels, the walk presents significant difficulties and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Caution is recommended for people with balance issues or limited mobility.
At the end of the walk, you can relax on exclusive Zapallar Beach or climb Cerro de la Cruz for a panoramic view. You can also continue on foot south along the path that leads to Las Cujas Beach in Cachagua.
It is essential to wear comfortable, closed shoes, as the stones can be slippery or uneven. Bring a windproof jacket even in summer, as the sea breeze becomes quite cool toward evening.
