A world-renowned ski resort located on the slopes of the majestic Villarrica Volcano, offering spectacular views and an unforgettable mountain experience.
The resort is open during the winter season (June to October) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is reached by following Route CH-199 from Pucon (14 km toward the mountains) to the base of the volcano. Snow chains are essential in winter. More details are available on the official website.
The adult day pass costs CLP 45,000 and CLP 30,000 for children (ages 6 to 12). It includes lift access. There are special rates for groups and combined lesson packages. Check promotions on the rates page.
Most visitors spend 4 to 6 hours enjoying skiing, snowboarding, or activities such as snowmobiling. If you plan to climb to the crater, add 5 to 7 more hours (an authorized guide is required).
Known as Rucapillan ("House of the Spirit" in Mapudungun), it is one of the most active volcanoes in South America and is considered sacred by the Mapuche people. Its last significant eruption was in 2015.
For skiing: July and August (maximum snowfall). For excursions: December to March (summer). Visiting early (9:30 to 11:00 a.m.) helps avoid crowds. The resort operates only in good weather—check conditions at Sernageomin.
It has accessible areas at the base (restaurant and viewpoints). The slopes and ascents require good physical mobility. Adapted snowmobile rides are available (CLP 25,000 per person). Contact +56 9 9876 5432 for assistance.
We recommend: 1) Geometric Hot Springs (1 hour), 2) Huerquehue National Park (lakes and trails), 3) Downtown Pucon (beach and handicrafts). More options are available in the Pucon Guide.
1) Reserve equipment in advance (it is scarce in high season), 2) Use UV300 sun protection (radiation is extreme at altitude), 3) Bring energy snacks (the altitude is tiring). Emergency phone: +56 45 244 1211.
