Audio Guide of Thracian Tomb of Sveshtari

The tomb is open year-round, generally from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (check in advance, as hours may vary by season). It is located 7 km from Sveshtari, Razgrad. The best option is to go by car or book a tour. To confirm opening hours, you can call +359 84 700 193 or visit the official website.

The standard price is about 10 leva (€5). Students and seniors pay half price (5 leva). Admission is free on the last Thursday of each month. Tickets also include a visit to the nearby interactive center, where its history is explained.

The visit to the tomb itself takes about 25 to 30 minutes (access is controlled for conservation reasons). We recommend allowing 1 hour in total, including the visitor center with models and projections that provide context for the discovery.

It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Dating from the 3rd century BC, it stands out for its 10 unique caryatids and red-and-blue wall paintings. It belonged to the Getae-Thracian people and shows Hellenistic influence.

Spring and autumn: mild temperatures and fewer tourists. In summer, go early in the morning when it opens at 9:00 AM, as the interior stays cool but the area has little shade. Avoid winter if it snows, as the roads can be difficult.

Limited. The original tomb has narrow stairs leading underground. However, the new visitor center on the ground floor has exact replicas and accessible touch screens. Future improvements are mentioned on the official website.
