Between 1 and 2 hours is enough to explore its main paths, therapeutic gardens, and viewpoints. If you want to relax on its benches or have a coffee, add 30 extra minutes.
The park pays tribute to the healer brothers Cosmas and Damian (Sveti Vrach in Bulgarian), patrons of the city known for its healing thermal waters. Their statues have been a central feature of the park since the 1960s.
Spring (April-June) and autumn (September-October) are best because of the mild weather. Avoid midday in July and August because of the heat. The best hours are before 11:00 or after 17:00.
Yes, it has main paved paths with gentle ramps and benches every 100-150 meters. The more wooded areas have compact gravel trails that may require assistance for wheelchairs.
A 10-minute walk away you will find the Sandanski Spa and the Church of the Holy Mother of God. Twenty kilometers away is the famous village of Melnik with its sand pyramids and wineries.
Bring water (there are fountains, but not many), comfortable shoes, and sunscreen in summer. Do not miss the central fountain with sculptures, the medicinal plant garden, and the views of the Pirin Mountains from the northern viewpoint.
