Audio Guide of the Kyustendil Regional History Museum

The Kyustendil Regional History Museum is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Most visitors spend between 1 and 1.5 hours. The museum has 12 permanent exhibition halls displaying everything from archaeological finds to contemporary history. If you want to see it in detail, allow at least 2 hours.

The museum preserves the historical memory of Kyustendil, a region inhabited since the Neolithic period. Its collection of Thracian and Roman pieces stands out, along with medieval objects related to the important fortress city of Velbazhd. It is key to understanding the cultural development of southwestern Bulgaria.

Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are ideal because of the mild weather. Avoid July and August because of the heat. As for the time of day, weekday mornings are quieter than afternoons or weekends.
