A coastal paradise in Porto Seguro, Bahia, known for its clear waters and lively atmosphere.
The beach is publicly accessible 24 hours a day. To get there, take Beira Mar Avenue from downtown Porto Seguro (about 5 km). If you do not have a vehicle, use local taxis or public transport that runs along the coast. More information on the city council website.
It is completely free! As a public beach, there is no access fee. You only pay if you use extra services such as umbrellas or water activities (prices vary by provider).
From half a day if you want to relax and enjoy the sea, to a full day if you combine it with water sports. Ideal for spending 4 to 6 hours enjoying the atmosphere.
Although the beach itself has no historic monuments, it is in the region where Portugal landed in Brazil in 1500. Porto Seguro as a whole is part of a World Natural Heritage setting. Historical details are available at the Virtual Museum.
The dry season (September to March) has less rain and temperatures of 25 to 30°C. As for timing, arrive before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. to avoid crowds and the strongest sun.
It has wooden walkways in some sections and flat access from the seafront promenade, although it does not have official beach wheelchairs. We recommend checking with nearby hotels about specific services.
Within 15 minutes you have the Recife de Fora Marine Park, ideal for snorkeling, and the Discovery Boardwalk with nighttime shows. Tourist map at Visit Porto Seguro.
Essentials: sunscreen (SPF 50+), footwear for coral areas if you swim, and cash (not all kiosks accept cards). You will find public restrooms, sun lounger rentals, and caipirinha stalls along the beach.
