❓ Frequently Asked Questions

When is the TAMAR Project open and how can I access it?

The Visitor Center is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is located next to Santo Antônio Port. Remember that to enter Fernando de Noronha you must pay the Environmental Preservation Fee in advance.

What is the ticket price for the TAMAR Project?

General admission costs R$ 32 (approx. €5.60) for adults. Noronha residents and children up to 12 years old pay R$ 16. Children under 1.20 m enter free. You can book on the official website.

How much time is recommended to visit the center?

The full visit takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour. If you want to see the turtle feeding, plan to be there around 4:00 p.m. (this schedule may vary).

Why is the TAMAR Project important in Noronha?

It has been a vital center since 1984 for conserving species such as the green turtles that nest here. They have protected more than 25 million sea turtles in Brazil and work in research and environmental education.

What is the best time of year to visit?

High season (December to March) is best for seeing nesting, but it is more crowded. August to January offers dry weather. Mornings are usually less busy than afternoons.

Is it accessible for people with reduced mobility?

It has ramps in the main areas and adapted restrooms, but some outdoor areas have uneven ground. Contact +55 81 3619-1274 in advance to confirm specific needs.

What other interesting places are nearby?

About 10 minutes away you have Boldró Beach (ideal for snorkeling) and Sancho Lookout. Also nearby are the historic center of Vila dos Remédios and the Dois Irmãos Hill trail (panoramic views).

Any practical advice for the visit?

Use sunscreen, bring water, and wear comfortable shoes. Non-flash photography is allowed, so bring a camera. Buy tickets online to avoid lines in high season. More info at: tamar.org.br
