The Seven Lakes Route is a public road open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since it's a free-flowing route and not an enclosed site, you don't need to book tickets—just plan your trip and enjoy the scenery! I recommend checking the road conditions on the official government site before heading out.

Great news! The Seven Lakes Route itself is completely free, as it's a public national road. There are no tolls or entrance fees to drive along it. However, keep in mind that some specific activities such as the Pehuén Trail at Chapelco may have fees, and of course, accommodation and restaurants in the area do as well.

The full stretch from Villa La Angostura to San Martín de los Andes is 110 km, and we recommend dedicating at least 4 to 6 full hours—though ideally, the whole day! The key isn't just driving, but stopping at each lake to take photos, walk a bit, and enjoy the views. Plan to leave early so you have plenty of time to stop at the viewpoints of Espejo, Escondido, and Falkner lakes.

This route is part of Nahuel Huapi National Park and represents one of the country's most important ecotourism corridors, inaugurated in 1934. It was designed by the National Parks Administration with an integrated landscape concept, preserving nature while connecting communities. It's considered one of the most beautiful routes in the world and is part of Argentina's National Heritage, reflecting the work of pioneers such as the National Parks Administration.

High season is summer (December to March) when the weather is ideal, although there are more tourists. If you're looking for fewer crowds and spectacular autumn landscapes, visit between April and June. Winter is beautiful with snow, but check route conditions on the official transport site before going, as there may be snow-related restrictions.

The route itself is a public road, but access to viewpoints and beaches can be uneven. In San Martín de los Andes, you can check with the Municipality about accessible services. Some restaurants and lodgings in the area have adaptations, but we recommend contacting them directly before visiting to confirm their specific facilities.

There's plenty to explore! In San Martín de los Andes, don't miss the Pehuén Trail at Mount Chapelco, ideal for condor watching. You can also do the Pehuén Path or visit the Arrayanes Trail from Villa La Angostura.

Bring a camera, layered clothing, and plenty of sunscreen! Midday light is ideal for photos, but always drive carefully and respect National Parks signage. Don't forget to picnic by one of the lakes, but remember that National Parks regulations are strict about protecting local wildlife and plant life.
