Audio Guide of Titteri Ruins

The ruins are open every day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. They are easily reached by car from Médéa in 15 to 20 minutes via the RN18 road. We recommend checking updates on the official Algeria tourism website.

Access is free for all visitors. If you want to hire a local guide, the service costs from 500 DZD (about 4 USD), negotiable on site.

A full visit takes between 1 and 3 hours, depending on your interest in history. Do not forget comfortable shoes and water, as the terrain is uneven.

Titteri was a strategic Berber settlement with Ottoman influence from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Its remains show ancient defensive walls and domestic structures typical of the Saharan Atlas.

Spring, from March to May, and autumn, from September to November, offer mild temperatures between 18 and 25°C. Avoid the middle hours of the day in summer, when temperatures rise above 35°C.

The terrain is difficult for wheelchairs because of uneven slopes and unpaved paths. People with limited mobility may use trekking poles and assistance for selected areas.

In Médéa, visit the Ottoman Quarter with its 16th-century mosque. Chréa National Park, ideal for hiking, is 30 minutes away. More information is available on the local tourism website.
