The exterior esplanade and viewpoint are open 24 hours a day, while the Army Museum (located below) is generally open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The most spectacular and convenient way to arrive is by taking the cable car from the Hamma Test Garden area (Jardin d'Essai).

Visiting the monument and enjoying the panoramic views over the Bay of Algiers is completely free. Only if you decide to enter the historical museum at the base will you need to pay a small, very affordable admission fee.

We recommend allowing between 45 minutes and one hour to explore the esplanade and take photos. If you plan to visit the museum and delve deeper into the history with an audio guide, the full visit may extend to around two hours.

The Martyrs' Memorial was inaugurated in 1982 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of independence. Its three 92-meter concrete palm leaves represent the industrial, agrarian, and cultural revolutions, honoring those who fell during the War of Independence.

Yes, the main esplanade is very wide, flat, and paved, which makes wheelchair movement easier. Access by cable car is usually accessible as well, although it is advisable to check the status of the service before you go.

Right at the foot of the monument, connected by cable car, is the impressive Hamma Test Garden. Very close by, you will also find the Riadh El Feth shopping and cultural center, ideal for a meal or a stroll.
