The museum is open Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (hours may vary on public holidays). General admission has a symbolic fee of around 200 DZD (about 1.5 USD). Children under 12 and students with valid ID usually enter free of charge. It is recommended to bring cash in Algerian dinars.
A full visit takes about 1.5 hours. The museum has 6 themed rooms where you can admire archaeological collections and exhibitions on the regional history of the Algerian highlands.
The museum preserves the cultural legacy of Djelfa and its region, including prehistoric finds, Roman artifacts from the nearby site of Géryville, and testimonies of local Berber culture. Its key pieces include funerary steles and Neolithic tools unique to the region.
The ideal months are April-May and September-October, when Djelfa's weather is milder (15-25°C). During July and August, temperatures exceed 35°C. The early morning hours are the least crowded.
