The park is open every day of the year from 8:00 a.m. until sunset. You can easily get there by taking an hourly bus from Sarandë or by taxi, which takes about 20–30 minutes to reach the main entrance.
General admission for foreign visitors is 1,000 LEK (approximately €10), while reduced rates may be available for groups and students. Tickets are purchased directly at the ticket office when you arrive at the site.
To follow the full route and enjoy the ruins at a relaxed pace, we recommend allowing between 2 and 3 hours. This will let you appreciate both the archaeology and the natural surroundings without rushing.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that brings together more than 2,500 years of history. It contains Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman ruins in one place, making it a microcosm of Mediterranean history.
The ideal time is early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds, or at sunset to enjoy a magical sunset over the ruins. Spring and autumn are the best seasons thanks to the mild weather.
Access is limited; although there are flat paths, much of the route has gravel, tree roots, and steps because of the natural terrain. It is recommended to ask at the entrance about the most suitable routes for your needs.
You are very close to the famous beaches of Ksamil, and you can take a small boat to see Ali Pasha Castle on the Vivari Channel. You can also combine the visit with dinner in the coastal town of Sarandë.
It is essential to bring strong mosquito repellent, as the park is surrounded by wetlands. Also wear comfortable shoes, bring plenty of water, and download an audio guide in advance so you do not miss the historical details.
