Donde el Caribe comunista escondió sus playas robadas y moluscos millonarios
As a public beach, access is open 24 hours a day, although sunbed services usually operate from 08:00 to 20:00. You can easily get there by bus from Saranda (departing every hour) or see its exact location on Google Maps.
Access to the sandy area is technically free, but the vast majority of the space is occupied by paid private sun loungers. Renting two sun loungers and one umbrella ranges from €15 to €50 depending on the season and location.
We recommend spending at least a full day to relax, swim to the nearby islands, and enjoy the local cuisine. If you are just passing through, set aside a minimum of 4 hours to appreciate the turquoise color of the water.
Known as the 'Maldives of Europe,' Ksamil is key to the tourism development of the Albanian Riviera thanks to its crystal-clear waters and white sand. Although it is a modern leisure destination, its proximity to ancient sites gives it a unique cultural contrast.
To avoid the biggest crowds, the ideal time to visit is in June or September. If you go in high season (July-August), it is crucial to arrive before 09:00 am to get a good seafront spot.
Accessibility is limited; although some beach clubs have ramps to their terraces, access to the water is usually difficult because of the sand and steps. It is recommended to check with specific establishments before going.
Do not miss the four Ksamil Islands, accessible by swimming or by boat, and the impressive Butrint National Park, a UNESCO site located just a few minutes away by car, ideal to explore with a specialized audio guide.
Always carry cash (Albanian lek), as many beach bars and small shops do not accept cards. Also, consider renting a pedal boat to explore the neighboring islands at your own pace.
